Thirteen of the UK’s top contemporary artists, including Glasgow-based Bob McNamara aka “Rogue One”, have joined forces for an exciting art initiative.

The project, named ‘Snowcase’, will see 15 one-off helmets auctioned off to help raise much-needed funds for nine worthy charities, including Leukaemia CARE, Doctors Without Borders and Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Commissioned by Trespass, the UK outdoor clothing brand, the online auction launched on 31/01/16 on eBay (www.trespass.com/snowcase ) and will run for a total of 10 days.

It features a diverse range of creative designs, including an unusual moulded skull design, a hand-drawn London landscape and a bright octopus design complete with twisting tentacles.

The artists spent approximately 200 hours working on the project between them.

Bob McNamara said, “When I was first approached by Trespass, I was slightly hesitant, as I’m more used painting large-scale walls and gable ends, so small snowboard helmets were definitely a new medium. However, when I heard that my designs would be auctioned off for charity I jumped at the chance.”

He added, “My brother passed away from leukaemia and due to this I’m really keen to support a charity such as Leukaemia CARE, who are doing great things. I hope the money raised can help benefit those facing and affected by blood cancer.”

All of the proceeds go to the charities below:

Doctors Without Borders
Disability Snowsports
Women’s Aid
Alzheimer’s Research UK
Shelter
Leukaemia Care
Migrant Offshore Aid Station
Prostate Cancer UK
Barnardo’s

The above is my favourite design. Would love it for my ski trip during this half-term holidays!

Go and place a bid for such a great cause!
