From reading my blog you know I love running, and often encourage other people to do so. I truly believe it is not only a great sport, but it also helps me to switch off the outside world, release stress and look after my mental health too. Running makes me happy.
Last few weeks have been super busy for me. Not only the final weeks before running the Paris Marathon, but I was also invited to a great Asics running event which I would like to share with you.
To celebrate the release of the NIMBUS 20 London Edition and the upcoming London Marathon, ASICS together with Men’s & Women’s Running were hosting a pre-marathon London run. It was starting at the Tower Bridge and ending at the ASICS store in Regents’ Street.
When I turned up by the Tower Bridge, I could see a group of people all dressed in ASICS kits. I was very excited, but also a bit worried I would not know anyone. But soon I spotted the pink hair of the lovely Emma Lipstick and Trainers whom I have met a few times before. It was nice to see a familiar face.
Then I started looking around and realized I was surrounded by quite a few faces I mainly knew from Twitter and Instagram.
I had a nice chat with the ASICS ambassador Caithy Walker, who looked absolutely amazing and made running look so easy and effortless.
Do you remember watching the news about this great guy helping another runner to get to the finish line at the London Marathon last year? I had no idea that nearly a year later I would be running with him, yes the fabulous Matt Rees The Welsh Runner.
Thanks to this event I also met Charlie The Runner Beans for the first time, with whom I was spending the weekend before running the Paris Marathon 2018 (on that some more in another post). The legendary ultrarunner Susie Chan was also taking part. I felt honoured to be part of such an amazing group of runners.
Nimbus London Trainers
What did I think of the actual trainers? Well, as soon as these arrived, I tried them on and loved the fit & extra cushioning. The design is also appealing. I adore all the little features like the inside of the actual shoe with a double-decker bus or the Big Ben images on the tongue.
After running in these a few times, I can say they are great for me. I was actually sent a neon pair of these to run in the Paris Marathon and they were brilliant.
Unfortunately, I did not get a place to run the London Marathon 2018, but will try again next year. It would be amazing to run it again, and see how much I have changed/developed as a runner since 2011, when running my first marathon.
If you are running the London Marathon this Sunday, I am wishing you a good luck.
