You might think that I am going completely mad, including attending the Eddie the Eagle European Premiere to Fitness Tuesday linky, but I can assure you that this definitely deserves to be mentioned here as the movie is all about sport and life achievements.
I was lucky enough to walk the blue carpet with my dear friend Vicki from HonestMum just over 2 weeks ago, and stand next to the amazing Hugh Jackman again (also attended the Pan movie premiere last year).
The atmosphere was incredible and after listening to the Dexter Fletcher (the director), and Hugh Jackman, I knew we were about to have a great time watching the movie.
I grew up in the Czech Republic, where ski jumping is a very popular and well established winter sport. My dad used to love watching ski jumping on TV, and I remember as a little girl joining him and being super excited. Unfortunately my dad is no longer with us, but I knew if he was he would definitely tell me all about Eddie the Eagle himself.
Anyway, once the real Eddie Edwards walked in the cinema, there was a lot of clapping and cheering to show how much he means to not only British audience. I think he must have been very emotional and proud to see a movie made about him and his achievements, and he should.
I absolutely loved the movie! I laughed, but I also cried a lot. Eddie is undoubtedly a true hero, a great inspiration to us all and you should go a watch the movie as it’s now out at the cinema nationwide!
“Inspired by true events, Eddie the Eagle is a feel-good story about Michael “Eddie” Edwards (Taron Egerton), an unlikely but courageous British ski-jumper who never stopped believing in himself – even as an entire nation was counting him out. With the help of a rebellious and charismatic coach (played by Hugh Jackman), Eddie takes on the establishment and wins the hearts of sports fans around the world by making an improbable and historic showing at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. From producers of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Eddie the Eagle stars Taron Egerton as Eddie, the loveable underdog with a never say die attitude.”
