For past 3 years I have been working with the team who are behind the UK National Fitness Day, and love it. With less than a week before the big day, I would like to make sure you all are ready and have some fitness plans for next Wednesday, 26 September. No excuses!
The vision for National Fitness Day 2018 is to deliver the biggest and widest reaching National Fitness Day ever, engaging new audiences from the inactive to the already active across a range of settings from the home to the high street, the office to the gym, while also encouraging people to just pick up their old trainers and get moving.
National Fitness Day represents the ideal opportunity to reach out to everyone in the UK to try a new fitness activity, get moving, visit new venues, or see what new classes they might enjoy – all for free!
National Fitness Day is organised by ukactive, the UK’s leading not-for-profit body for the physical activity sector. In 2018 National Fitness Day saw over 20,000 events held across the UK getting over 5 million people active on the day. It also trended at number 1 on Twitter!
This year I will be joining the team in Guildhall London and you can too. Book your FREE tickets for some great classes. You’ll be joined by a host of sporting stars from Everyone Active’s Sporting Champions programme, including Team GB’s Olympic Gold Medallists, Alex Danson and Max Whitlock alongside one of athletics great’s, Colin Jackson.
Put 26/9 in your diary and keep fit wherever you are! I will also make sure my two daughters join me for a run or cycle after school. Keeping fit as a family is so much fun, and so important!
Don’t forget to share what you are up to using #FitnessDay a& #Fitness2me and leave your comments on this post too. Would love to hear about your day.
