As a professional blogger I spend lots of time behind my MacBook Air and despite my regular exercises and break from sitting the desk, I often get a very bad back pain.
I was very pleased about being asked to review the new improved Lumo Lift as have heard lots about it, and really wanted to find out if it really helps to improve my body posture.
Lumo Lift is the world’s first digital posture coach and activity tracker. This stylish wearable device is worn near the collarbone as an accessory or hidden under your clothing.
It provides discreet vibratory feedback right when you slouch to gently remind you to sit tall and stand strong. Does that sound perfect? I think so!
The Lift has two main functions: the “align” mode, which keeps a record of frequent posture throughout the day and rates it; and “coaching sessions”, which track your position and reminds you in the form of vibrations when you slouch.
It also includes a pedometer, measuring the distance in steps and miles a user walks, along with calories burned and syncs with an iPhone app via Bluetooth to analyse the data.
Setting up was pretty easy and I would recommend to watch the video on the official website to see how to wear the device along with a few other videos that will answer some more curious questions.

Features of the Lumo Lift:
Align — Aligning your sensor is an important part of using your Lumo Lift because it tells the Lift what to look for throughout the day. Get into your best posture and double-press your sensor (similar to double clicking your mouse) to Align your Lift. You’ll receive three quick buzzes to let you know you’ve successfully Aligned your Lift. Great times to Align include: when you change clothes, after you have been moving around, or before you activate a coaching session.
Posture Alert — Posture Alert is a great way to help you maintain overall good posture throughout the day. When this feature is turned on, your Lumo Lift will give you 5 quick buzzes whenever you’ve been slouching for a selected period of time (anywhere between 1min and 30 min).
Coaching Sessions — Coaching Sessions are timed training sessions for practicing good posture. When activated, your Lumo Lift will give you immediate vibratory feedback whenever the sensor detects slouching.
1 buzz: Start of Coaching Session
2 buzzes: End of Coaching Session
3 buzzes: Successfully Aligned your Lift
5 buzzes: Posture Alert buzz sequence
Continuous buzzing: Slouching while in a Coaching Session
I think it’s a great device as it has helped me to improve my body posture along with counting my steps, distance & calories, and will be using it from now on to make sure my back pain does not come back!
