If you follow me on Instagram, you will definitely know I am a huge sunshine and summer lover. That was one of the reasons why I moved to Syndey more than 12 years ago, spend wonderful 5 years in sunny Australia. Then I fell in love with an Englishman. You might guess the end to this fairytale. Yes, it made sense for both of us to move back to Europe as all our family were based here.
Living in Sydney was just amazing, and 12 years on I still have tears in my eyes just thinking about it. Well as we moved on, and started our family life in London, I have realised every autumn I get very low and felt like doing nothing. The sudden change and lack of sunshine had not a good impact on me.
We are quite lucky and usually go on a sunny beach holiday at Xmas every year. The vision of spending 2 weeks in sunshine has somehow helped me to get through the long autumn and winter months.
This year we have decided to spend Xmas with my family in the Czech Republic. Both my daughters are super excited as they love snow and skiing and also we do celebrate Xmas is a bit differently, and I miss that.
When I was growing up and lived in the Czech Republic I did not get depressed like here in the UK. I believe it might be as the weather is very different in winter, crisp cold air, clear blue skies, much colder temperatures.
