Last week I had an amazing time with my family while on holiday in sunny Turkey. I am known for loving beautiful beaches and seaside, and lots of sunshine. Since I have started running years back, I also always make sure I pack my running shoes, and despite the holiday lazing around, I make sure I go for a run too.

On Saturday afternoon, just after dropping girls in our hotel room and leaving the parent duties on daddy, I put my trainers on and went to the beach. I had been so excited about running along the sea for such a long time.

At this time of the year the sun goes down much earlier than in summer, and I managed to get some amazing sunset photos while enjoying one of the most beautiful runs on my life. There were only very few people on the beach, and I was listening to the sound of the waves and just thinking how happy and lucky I was to be there.

I was running, running, and running. At the end I ran for over an hour. It was a very different type of running in the wet sand, and I was very pleased I had my trainers as I would probably did not manage to run that far bare foot. On the other hand, it would have been a very different experience, just feeling the wet sand getting through my toes, splashing in the sea. Well, hopefully next time!

I am very pleased I went for that run, just a shame I went only once.

If you like running make sure you always pack your running shoes when going on holidays, and don’t forget to check the other gallery entries!
