It’s an all too familiar feeling, the weekend is coming to an end and the Sunday night dread is creeping ever closer and thoughts of Monday morning won’t leave us in peace.
It’s becoming quite a common phenomenon in our busy lifestyles as various thoughts and feelings stop us from enjoying our Sunday evenings with a clear head.
RESCUE PLUS® Lozenge has put together some different scenarios, with top tips from Happyologist® Susanna Halonen, to help you keep the last night of the weekend cool and calm.
During the winter months, it can often feel like the weekend is over with the fading sun but that would mean it’s over at 4pm!
When the light fades, think of activities you can do which don’t need sunlight such as having a long soak in the bath, cooking a Sunday roast for friends and family or having a movie night.
MONDAY MORNING TO DO LIST
If all the jobs for the coming week keep whirling around your head on a Sunday evening why not set up a new ritual on a Friday afternoon.
At the end of the working day, make a priorities list for the next week and decide the top two tasks to be started on Monday morning.
This will help you to stop worrying about the week ahead as you’ve already got your plan ready. You can also apply this to jobs outside work such as grocery shopping, cleaning and sorting the washing.
If you feel you haven’t rested as much as you needed/liked to over the weekend, then try adjusting your schedule for the week ahead to include more rest evenings and relaxed activities.
If you’re feeling unprepared because you’re not sure what Monday has in store, following the above plan of prioritising the week ahead on a Friday will go some way to helping this.
CONCERNED AT THE THOUGHT OF WORK
It’s good to think on why this is. Could it be your responsibilities at work, your lack of enjoyment, the actual work, your colleagues, or the schedule? Or it could be something else entirely.
Once you’ve identified it, you can start to think about how to resolve it. Take deep breaths when you need to feel calm and composure.
It’s important to eat a healthy balanced diet for vital vitamins and minerals that support your normal mental performance.
Why not replace your usual mid-morning sweet treat with a RESCUE PLUS lozenge. Not only does it have a soothing orange and elderflower liquid centre but it contains pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) which helps support normal mental performance.
Remember you have the skills to resolve the challenge and you always have the option of asking for help.
THE FRETTING STARTS EARLIER AND EARLIER
Fight it with a gratitude habit, end each working day by making notes of what you feel grateful for (3 a day) and it will start to break the habit.
It will help to shift your perspective and you will start to notice things you enjoy about your work and start replacing your Sunday night dread with excitement.
LACK OF ACHIEVEMENT AT THE WEEKEND
Why do we always have to have achieved something? We already live incredibly hectic lives where busyness is something to compete over.
Why not try and buckle the trend by making your weekends something to enjoy. If you do have things you need to achieve, try getting them done at the start so you can relax afterwards.
Also, acknowledge that something’s things don’t always go to plan but if it frustrates you, learn from it. What stopped you from doing it?
How can you prioritise next time and why was it important?
Try keeping your RESCUE® notebook to hand to jot down all the thoughts that come into your head alongside RESCUE PLUS Lozenge, which combines Pantothenic acid, better known as Vitamin B5 and Vitamin B12, with the RESCUE essences in a soothing lozenge with a natural orange and elderflower liquid centre.
This combination of B vitamins has been specifically selected to support your daily performance even on busy days. Pantothenic acid (B5) helps support normal mental performance & Vitamin B12 helps maintain normal psychological function.
