The summer is almost over, and when would be the best time to stop worrying about covering infected toe nais and get them treated?

I know, this is not the most romantic topic to talk about. On the other hand, how many of you have suffered a fungal nail infection or other toe nail issues at some point in your life and have felt embarrassed by it?

Fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) usually start as a white or yellow streak under the tip of your finger or toenail.

You may begin to feel uncomfortable or experience pain as the infection spreads – your infected nail usually changes appearance and becomes brittle, discoloured, and crumbles easily.

Fungal nail infections are contagious, and although it can be embarrassing it is important for you to treat it as soon as you spot the symptoms because it will not clear up on its own.

They are easy to catch in places where you’re barefoot, such as changing rooms or swimming pools, or via unsterilised equipment in nail and beauty salons.

If you touch someone who is infected and you forget to wash your hands, it’s easy to develop an infection. Sharing contaminated objects such as towels, bed sheets and clothing can also spread the infection.

Common symptoms of fungal nail infection are :

  • White or yellow streaks on the nail
  • Thick, rough, or brittle nail
  • Loss of luster and shine
  • Crumbling or jagged nail edges
  • Loosening or lifting up of the nail
  • Change in nail shape
  • Debris trapped under the nail

Last year I also suffered with a toe nail infection. It was not nice, and I did paint over it over and over again. It was my pedicurist who suggested I really had to treat it, as it was a fungal nail infection.

Why Canespro?

23589 Canespro CartonFrontOn

For the latest competition I have teamed-up with Canespro, who specialise in treating fungal nail infections, and have come up with Canespro Fungal Nail Treatment Set, which is clinically proven to remove the infected parts of the nail in 2-3 weeks.

Applied daily, Canespro urea 40% ointment softens the infected part of the nail, which can then gradually be removed with the plastic tool provided in the set, leaving the healthy parts intact. No other over the counter fungal nail product works faster.

One pack contains a 10g tube of Canespro urea 40% ointment, 1 plastic tool and 22 waterproof plasters.

One pack is sufficient to treat 1 big toenail or 2 small nails.

Stop painting over your fungal nail – treat now!

Not happy? Get your Money Back. Canespro have a money back offer available now until 31st July 2017 so if you’re not completely satisfied with the results after using Canespro, you can claim a full refund of your purchase.

Canespro Fungal Nail Treatment Set is widely available from Boots, Superdrug, Lloyds Pharmacy, independent chemists and other major retailers, including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s.

I’d flung on a pair of sandals and it wasnt until i arrived at their front door that i looked down and noticed i had the MOST chipped, terrible looking nail polish on! I’ve never had pretty feet but last year in hospital, a nurse informed me that they were running out of veins in my arms so would need to insert a canular in the top of my foot, this was until she took a look at my feet. She proceeded to ask if my feet had always been so “oddly shaped” before declaring she couldn’t possibly use my feet for a canular,as she couldn’t guarantee the veins would be in the right place! Foot shame is the kindest way to put it, I was mortified!!

Okay, so my father always says that us as a family have defamed ‘digit’ genes. This is probably because our toes and fingers are slightly ‘odd’. My feet are awful and I never ever want to get them out – this is because my little toe is what’s called a ‘slug’ in my family. I cannot separate it from the next toe, bend it or move it – it’s tiny compared to it’s neighbour! So, during the summer of 2016, we had a BBQ and I built up the courage to wear flip flops – I wish I hadn’t because one of my sisters kids shouted ‘Yuck look at your toe’ and this made everyone turn around! Never again will I get my feet out!

It was two years ago in Egypt I went to the spa for a pedicure and manicure and forgot not only were my feet filthy I took to walkingbarefoot cos the floors were so slippy and all my shoes slid and I had black chipped polish on top of orange neon . Was too lazy to take it off . The guy that did the pedicure gave me a look and I was so ticklish I kept pulling away . He said these are in a state I was mortified . I told him to stop and he said madam I never stop . Omg I hated it . After carping off a ton of dry skin and cutting the nails they looked okay . However I fell over exiting the beauty parlour and landed I top of the boss going in ooops . Never again .

I hate feet. Mine are very dry and need a lot of attention to ensure they don’t become painful. I hate summertime when everyone has their feet on show, especially those that have long, discoloured toenails, dry cracked and even grass stained feet. I would go as far to say that if I didn’t need them to walk on I wouldn’t want them. My partner says they are just like big hands. That’s made my foot hatred even worse lol.

I last hid my toes when I had a fungal infection like the ones described here. It looked really nasty! Normally I hide them with nail polish, but that was what caused the trouble in the first place. Thankfully it cleared up in a few days with treatment.

I don’t normally have a problem with my toes but once forgot I had nail polish that had chipped on all of my toes once and completely forgot so that was embarassing. But my main issue with my toes are that being half Indian I do get long, dark hairs.

I once forgot that I had shaved my legs but not on my toes so my toe hairs had grown a bit long, forgetting about it I noticed someone make a disgusted face looked down and to my horror my toe hairs were sprouting EEK!! I will never live that down especially seeing as it was my partners friend and not a stranger HAHAHA!!!

Also bunnions ugly things so had them both done its took 3 years in total and now my feet are on show more often. Lot to be said for flip flops.

I broke several toes last winter when coming back from the doctors wearing tight sox and loose boots. My foot slipped on ice and my foot shot forward onto the inside front of the boots and broke them, I just thought at the time I had stubbed my foot but when I got home and took my sock off the toes had gone black and swollen up to fat little sausages and were agony.

I had to “Hide my toes” for several weeks (and wear hubbies nasty brown slipper) as they were so painful and gross to look at, and I didnt want to take the risk of people coming near them, I was truly feral 🙁

The most ridiculous moment, was when I opened the door to a friend. I wasn’t wearing shoes or socks, and the door was at just the wrong height, and it lifted my big toenail. Yuck! Rather painful, and my friend was very squeamish, so she was near fainting. So stupid! Okay, so this is a more yuck story than embarrassing, but it’s what I remembered when I read you wanted a toe story.

I don’t so much hide my toes as I hide the whole sole of my foot because I was unfortunate enough to catch 3 verrucas when on holiday 10 years ago and even though I had them frozen off they left the skin looking odd. So I’m always burying my feet in the sand or putting my bag on top of them when I’m sunbathing.
