Cannot wait to reveal another fab fitness opportunity that has been offered to me via running this blog, and that is one of the reason I have decided to start focussing not only on my running muscles, but also on other parts of my body.
Since completing the swimathon challenge I have mostly been only running. It’s mainly as the weather is much nicer and every year I seem to go through the same pattern of swapping the indoor pool and spinning classes for running more often & outside.
I am aware that as a runner I need to make sure my core muscles need to stay firm and in use. I have come across a few free apps that I hope will help me get my core muscles stronger again.
I have opted for a 30 day total abs and squat challenges, and really like that they both do not take me very long to complete, which means I often do them even in the evening when I am exhausted after a busy day.
The first few sit ups made me realise how weak some of my muscles are, but I did not give up. After sweating and trying really hard I am still sticking to the apps plans. I am on my day 7 now, and finally all muscle pain is gone, but am not going to pretend it was anything pleasant. I just forgot how painful the beginnings can be.
I will keep you updated about what I think about the apps I am trying ( no official blog reviews, just my choice), and if they are worth sharing!

You go girl with those abs and squats! I still do my squats in the shower and my yoga practice often gives a good ab workout too!

Maybe I need to do one of those ab challenges. My core really needs strengthening. Or do you think it would be better if I lost more weight first?
