Kids have been back to school for over 2 weeks now, and what a stressful time for me. I have been given no choice than facing two school runs in two different towns as our older daughter Isabelle has not been offered a place at any of our local schools.
We moved into our new home more than 1.5 years ago, and she has been on the continued interest list since then. This year is different as our younger daughter got a place at our closest school, which means I have to drop her off first then jump in the car and drive 5 miles to get Isabelle to her old school. This makes her about 25 minute late every day. Would you believe it? We have just sent off our appeal for a school place, and fingers crossed. If this is not a case than I have no idea what could be!
Enough of me complaining, and back to fitness. I am pleased to say that I am on track with my marathon training and enjoining my short and long runs too. It’s true that the last 20km run was a bit of a stretch, but I need to be adding distance and work on my perseverance. In just over a month I will be on a plane to Venice, ready for my 3rd marathon and am very excited.
The weather has been pretty rubbish for September and it’s hard to find days when it does not rain, so I had to run a few times in the rain, but not the long runs, and really hope the weather in Venice will be kind to me. I have also booked my favourite spinning class to strengthen my core muscles, except my sit up and other exercises I do at home.
Yesterday I finally tested my new Sony Waterproof Walkman Headphones, and have to say that I had a brilliant time while listening to my favourite music. They are fab as you download all the music you want in the earphones and no need for your phone or anything else! They were super light, comfortable and you can use them when swimming too (still need to test that). Absolutely love them, and thanks to that I ran 5km in my best time ever!
What have you been up to last week?

I hope you get answers soon, you cannot go on driving 5 miles each morning, just not fair on any of you. Those headphones look amazing and you are getting me motivated again, we’ve all had endless colds and bugs here so it’s put me off running. Wish you lived closer to kick my ass x
Those headphones look great, I always struggle with head/earphones they always seem to drop out or off! I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Sounds like they’re great. Good luck with your training hun xx
Fingers crossed for your appeal, I’m having school problems at the moment too!
Those headphones look fantastic, I can’t train without my dodgy music playing!! X
