I hope the title of today’s post got you super excited! Thanks to twitter I have come across Rebounce London and have also been invited to a class myself by the lovely Missie Frank. This sort of class is something I can imagine enjoying very much as I love dancing and please do watch the short video below to give you an idea what to expect.
As we are off soon to spend the whole of school summer holidays with my family and friends in the Czech Republic I have not been able to try it out yet, but really hope that once back in September with both girls being at school full time and my fully on marathon training I will make it there.
The first class is for free, so anyone can join and decide if it’s for you.
Now over to Missie Frank:
What to expect from the class:
It is 45 minutes of pure enjoyment whilst giving your body one heck of a workout!
The class starts with a warm-up off the rebounder and core strengthening, leading into a warm-up/run through of basic moves on the rebounder. Next you have two choreography sections, where you learn two short routines. The choreography sections then lead into our twerk-off which is sure to get you sweaty, tone up those legs, tums and bums and also channel your inner Beyoncé. We then continue with another two choreography sections and to finish, we go over all the choreography learnt and put it together in our final show down. The session ends with a cool down and stretching off the trampoline, to prevent injury. The rebounders and dance factor make you forget you are “working out” and time really does fly when you’re having fun.
Who are the classes for:
Rebounding is for EVERYONE – it is a fun and effective way of keeping fit, losing weight and toning up. Rebounding is very good for you as it is a low impact exercise, meaning it protects your joints. As our classes are high-intensity they will keep your heart rate up and improve your fitness. You are working all your key muscles, especially your legs and your core through tensing every time your body leaves the rebounder. As well as putting your body through its paces, the choreographed sections also challenge your brain, co-ordination and rhythmic skills. Each person is different, but going by previous clients readings as well as our own, you can burn anything from 400-800 calories in a 45minute class.
How did the classes start:
Previous to Rebounce London I was primarily a dancer, choreographer and dance teacher. Being self-taught, I attended lots of dance classes as training (as well as many hours dancing in front of the mirror, ha). I know how fun but also how daunting classes can be, especially when everyone else seems to know exactly what they are doing. I was thinking of ways to make a dance class less focused on the fact you are dancing so the participant wouldn’t feel self-conscious, when the idea of rebounding appeared. I thought I would combine the two resulting is a new dance-fitness class. I wanted to really focus in on the fact that it was a dance class with a twist, rather than solely an exercise class.
About Missie Frank:
As I mentioned I am a self-taught dancer with a range of experience in the industry. This includes teaching, choreography, live events and music videos. As an avid choreographer and performer, I have always been on the hunt for new challenges to allow me to develop new ideas whilst continuing to learn. I strongly believe that through sheer determination, ambition and the hunger to achieve, I strive to excel in all I do. I am incredibly passionate about everything I do and I believe this shines through both in my work and social life. You can have all the skills and experience in the world but without the drive, commitment and a get-up-and-go attitude to succeed these skills are wasted.
